Viola Mary (Trate) Weidner

Viola Mary (Trate) Weidner, 89, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022, while a guest of Country Rest Home, in Greenwood, Delaware. Born November 8, 1932 in Temple, PA she was a daughter of the late George M. and Mary E. (Keller) Trate. She was the wife of the late Clifford A. Weidner, whom she married on April 14, 1956.

Viola was employed as a packer by Bachman Foods, Reading for 35 years, until her retirement on March 01, 1998. She enjoyed gardening around her home in Laureldale. She was a member of Rosedale United Church of Christ, also in Laureldale.

Viola is survived by her son, Craig A. Weidner and his wife Annie M., of Ellendale, DE; granddaughter Audree L. Mooney and 2 great grandchildren, Reilley C., and Emilie R. Mooney, all of West Lawn, PA. Viola also leaves behind several nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her grandson, Chad A. Weidner; her 2 brothers Herman Trate, Nelson Trate and 2 sisters Pearl M. Troxel, wife of the late Charles (Trox) Troxel and Jeanette M. Waid.

A viewing for Viola will be held Friday, September 30, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Auman's Inc., 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reiffton. Funeral service will promptly commence in the funeral home at 12:00 PM, with Rev. Selina Hamilton officiating. Graveside committal will immediately follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 391 W. Neversink Rd., Reiffton.
