William David Reese

He was the husband of Katherine Schaeffer Young Reese.

Born in Pottsville, he was a son of the late Earl and Tabitha Jones Reese.

Bill was a 1949 graduate of Pottsville High School and a graduate of the Philadelphia School of Pharmacy.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, having served for six years.

He was employed as a pharmacist for 50 years until retiring.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Pottsville, and also attended Trinity Episcopal Church, Pottsville.

He was a past president of the Schuylkill County Pharmaceutical Society and was a member of the Pottsville Club and Schuylkill Haven Rotary Club.

Bill was a devoted son, husband, brother, uncle, stepfather and grandfather who enjoyed playing bridge and traveling with his wife and grandchildren. He also enjoyed attending high school athletic games with his brother, Earl, and family.

Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Marlin, and sisters, Edna, June, Nancy and Laire.

In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his stepson, Gregory Young and his wife, Pam, Sinking Spring; his stepdaughter, Cynthia (Young), wife of Fritz Ryland, Pine Grove; his grandchildren, Graham Young, Amanda Young, Allison Young, Christine Matson and Erik Ryland; his great-grandchildren, Violet Young, Scarlett Young, Alexandra Matson, Arianna Ryland and Easton Ryland; his brother; Earl Reese and his wife, Gwen, Pottsville; his sister, Peggy Androsko, Pottsville.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Episcopal Church, 200 S. Centre St., Pottsville. Interment will follow in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. Friends will be received from 9:30 to 10 a.m. in the church.
