

He is survived by his wife, Margaret A. (Ross) Stanton. William was born in Shamokin, PA, on May 22, 1922, a son of the late Byron L. and Ruth L. (Yost) Stanton.
He was a member of St John's Reformed Church in Sinking Spring and was an Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. He was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad as a carpenter, retiring in 1970 and then working for Luden's Candy Company as a machine operator until retiring in October of 1983.
In addition to his wife, William is also survived by his 2 sons: William A. Jr. and his wife, Tina Stanton of Hamburg; and David E. and his wife, Wendy Stanton of Sinking Spring; there are 5 grandchildren: Roeschel Stanton, Jennifer Fessen-den, Stephanie Stanton, Jessica Stanton, and William A. Stanton III; 3 great-grandchildren: Devin, Brandon, and Serai Fessenden. William also has 2 sisters, Ruth and her husband, Neil Krause of Birdsboro; and Natalie and her husband, James Minnich of Wernersville. He was predecased by several siblings.
Services will be Friday, June 27, 2014 at 11 a.m. in Auman's Inc Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd, Reiffton. Burial to follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. A viewing will be Friday, 9-11 a.m. in the funeral home.
