Alexander Edward Ostroski

Alex was born in Sharon, Connecticut on September 21, 1951. He grew up in Wingdale, N.Y., where he graduated from Dover SR High School in 1969. He enlisted in the Army in 1971, and after basic training spent 14 months in Indochina as a medical corpsman.

Alex was married to Velda Reed on May 14, 1994 in Redding, CA, they were happily married for 20 years.

Alex worked as a Payroll Specialist for Shasta Regional Medical Center. He started in 1988 with Redding Medical Center as a shipping and recieving clerk, he also held the position of buyer before becoming a payroll specialist. Alex spent 26 years with R.M.C. and Shasta Regional Medical Center.

Alex enjoyed being outdoors whether it was doing his favorite pastime fishing, or out four wheeling with friends. Alex was a devout Raider fanatic and avid reader, he also loved just hanging out with his favorite cats Raider and Missy.

Alex is survived by his wife Velda, of Redding, CA., and his daughter Angie Lane, and husband Chris of Pineville, N.C.

Grandchildren, Travis, and Kyle, of Pineville, N.C., his mother, Shirley Ostroski, of San Leandro, CA., and Charlene Ostroski of Kailua Kona, HI., sister Lisa Ostroski and brother-in-law Chiron Alston and also sister Cheryl Ostroski of Wingdale, N.Y., and niece's Alison Alston, of San Leandro, CA, Aureila Alston of Portland, OR., and nephew Kevin Moore of Wingdale, N.Y.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Forever Pets, P.O. Box 990727, Redding, CA 96099. Alex will be greatly missed by his loving family and many friends and his pets Raider and Missy.

A Chapel Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Lawncrest Chapel, 1522 E Cypress, Redding, CA 96002, a reception will follow, catered by Shasta Regional Dietary Dept.
