Alta Jo Tanner, 97, of Redding died on Thursday, December 30th, peacefully at her home. Mrs. Tanner was born July 19th, 1913 in Redden, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her daughter Linda Tanner and husband Ted Tanner. They were married for over 63 years. She is survived by her brothers Nathan Hines of Cottonwood and Lee Hines of Redding, three children, daughter Louise Kahl of Idaho, two sons Larry Tanner of Redding and Danny Tanner of Sacramento and 9 grandchildren with 32 great grandchildren. She was a loving and caring wife and mother who loved having people stop by her home to visit and have a bite to eat.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 3, 2010 at Lawncrest Chapel in Redding from 3 until 6 p.m. Burial will be held privately at Lawncrest Memorial Park.
