

Barbara Jean Boyle was born on December 31, 1931, in Los Angeles, California. Her parents were Eileen and Clarence Kleist. She grew up in South Gate and graduated from South Gate High School in 1950.
She married Edward James Boyle, a 1949 graduate of South Gate High School, on February 19, 1951. After living in South Gate and Glendale, Arizona, Barbara and Ed moved to Sacramento, California in 1955. They later moved to Modesto, California in 1970, and then to Redding, California in 2005.
Although most of her years were devoted to loving and raising her family, and being a dedicated home maker, Barbara also was employed as a clerical worker for Kraft Foods, she was an Avon sales person, worked retail sales for a stationers, and performed financial work for a mortgage firm.
Along with caring for her husband and children, Barbara’s greatest loves were cooking, sewing, gardening, and her succession of fabulous, personable cats. Her family and friends were always impressed by her sincerity and generosity, her impeccable fashion sense, her personal warmth and compassion for anyone who needed her care, and, especially, her good humor and capacity for wise, sensible advice.
Barbara is survived by her sons, Michael Patrick Boyle and his wife, Magdalena, currently residing in Sitka, Alaska, and Gregory Kevin Boyle and his wife Annette, who live in Poughkeepsie, New York, and her seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
