

Doreen Ann Alexander was born on July 23, 1951 in Redding, California and passed away June 1, 2020 after a long battle with cancer. Doreen was born to Charles Bery and Carol Doreen (McDaniel) Martin. Doreen had three children, Shannon Olson, Natalie (Olson) Ducat and Bryon Alexander. Doreen was married to Bill Alexander for almost 40 years. Doreen worked at the strawberry sheds and Red Line Linens before graduating from beauty school. She worked at both LaMonaco’s and Odessey of Beauty, Redding. She also worked at Ted Pella where she sold medical supplies to people from all over the world. When Doreen wasn’t working she was actively involved in the Redding Women’s Rodeo Association, Redding Rodeo Association Auxiliary and served as the drill master for the Redding Junior Rodeo Association. She spent hours developing new drill team routines for the juniors and traveled all the way to San Francisco for the team to compete at Cow Palace. She loved horses and spending time with her family who were all very involved in the Rodeo Association. Doreen is a member of the Wintu Tribe of Northern California. Doreen also loved to play softball, pool and bowl with her husband Bill. She loved oldies and could be found recording mix tapes from the radio for her family. Most of all she loved her family and her puppies, boo boo and bee bee.
Doreen is survived by her mother Carol Martin of Redding, her husband Bill Alexander of Redding; her son Shannon Olson of Redding; her daughter Natalie (Olson) Ducat of Redding; her daughter Crystal Alexander of Portland, Oregon; her son William and wife Lori Alexander of Fairbanks, Alaska; her son Todd and wife Kimberly Alexander of Glendale, AZ. Her grandsons Shawn and wife Alicia Crackel, Jeremy Beeman, Ray Valdez, Jacob Atterbury, Loren Alexander, Brandon Alexander. Her granddaughters Julie Ann Olson, Haley McClure, Jourdan Alexander. Sisters Mary and husband Rocky Beedy, and Esther Stevenson. Brother in law Terry Mauer. Sisters in law Betty and husband Roy Trachsel, and Debra and husband Andy Paluch. Her great grandson Colton. Her two great granddaughters Poppy and Mylah. Doreen is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Doreen was preceded in death by her father, Charles Martin, her son Bryon Alexander, her sister Terry Mauer, and just recently her great grandson Orion Beeman.
Services will be held graveside at Lawn Crest in Redding, CA on Friday, June 12 at 1:00pm
