1926 - 2014
Our beloved mother and grandmother, Marcene Bolton was called home to the loving arms of her Creator and Savior on December 3, 2014. She was born to Wallace and Arleta Williams, Shasta county pioneers, on August 16, 1926.
After attending Shasta High School where she met her future husband, Joseph Bolton, Marcene graduated College of the Pacific. Upon return from WWII, Joe and Marcene were married August 16, 1946. They were partners in a local business, Rother Auto Parts, until Joe's death in 1991.
Always the consummate wife, mother and servant to all, Marcene became a political activist in the early 1970's. Her passionate love of Jesus Christ, country, and history melted when she studied and ultimately taught Americas' Christian History at NVBC School and in her home. Marcene was a charter member in Daughters of the American Revolution and served twice as Regent. She was an active member at North Valley Baptist Church, Chavurah Messianic Assembly and Spirit and Truth Ministry. Though she traveled far and wide her love of God, family and country were her heart.
She is survived by her son, Brent and his wife June; her daughter, Cheryl: grandchildren, Travis and Stacy, and great-granddaughter, Megan Harry; numerous nieces and nephews and scores of friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Good News Rescue Mission.
