
1923 – 2016
Marjorie was born November 20, 1923 in Streeter, North Dakota and she passed away on March 19, 2016 in Redding, Ca. She was the first of 10 children born to Ronald S Squires and Jennie MJ (Hyslop) Squires. Her family moved to Yacolt, Wa. when she was 12.
She eventually met and married Charles H Wagner and during their 55 years together they raised 5 children. They moved to Eureka, Ca. in 1951 and a few months later moved to Crannell where they lived and raised their family until 1968 when they moved on to McKinleyville. In 2005 they moved to Redding to be closer to family.
Marjorie worked at Montgomery Ward in Eureka for many years and retired in 1980. She and Charles (Bill) enjoyed traveling with their trailer and spending time with their family.
Marjorie was proceeded in death by her loving husband, Charles, her parents Ronald and Jennie Squires, four sisters, Althea Simpson, Anita Brooks, Janice Olstead, and Myrna Manes, one brother, Arthur Squires, and her granddaughter Tammy (Bicknell) Williams.
She is survived by her loving children: Vivian (Archie) Bicknell of Atoka, Ok, her son Virgil (Wanda) Muncton of Redding, Ca, her daughter Karen (Dan) Speight, Redding, Ca, her daughter Shirley (Terry) Mosier of Buckeye, Az, and her son Gary Wagner, Redding Ca. her Six grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren. Also surviving her are her sisters: Bessie Kullberg, Maisie Harrell, Susan Courtney, her brother: Ronald Squires, all of Washington, and her sister-in-law, Helen Wagner of Eureka, Ca. She also leaves many extended family members, friends and her much loved dog Skeeter.
Marjorie’s family would like to give special thanks to the 3rd floor staff at Shasta Regional Medical Center for their exceptional care and attention she received, the staff at Copper Ridge Rehabilitation for the care she received during previous stays, and the staff and residents at her new home at Sundial Assisted Living which went Above and beyond to make her final months joyful.
Per her request there will be no services. Interment will be alongside her dearly loved husband at the Northern California Veterans Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a donation to the charity of your choice.
