Marvin Albert Smith, the son of Alva Fay Smith and Barbara Zimmerman, was born in Valley Falls, Kansas on August 22, 1929.
He graduated from high school in Winchester, Kansas in 1948. He graduated from Kansas State University with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering on January 24, 1953.
He was in active US military service during the Korean War. After his military service, he moved to Saint Louis, where he worked for McDonald Aircraft Corporation and where he met and married his wife, Wilma Lee Smith on February 10, 1956.
He has two children, Kelly Albert Smith, who passed away November of 1974, and Mark Alan Smith, currently residing in Sacramento, California. He has one grandchild, Andrew Albert Smith, age 13.
After working for 7 years installing missile sites, he moved his family to Los Angeles, where he lived for 16 yeas and worked in the Motel business. He retired in 1979, at the age of 50, and moved his family to Redding, California. He resided in Redding until his death at the age of 84. He was a caring and devoted husband and father. He will be missed by his family and friends.
