Dennis Earl Meltzer

Dennis Earl Meltzer was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 15, 1950 to his parents Harry and Margabelle Meltzer. Dennis passed away April 16, 2021 at the age of 71. Beloved husband of 42 years to the late Jill Meltzer. Loving father of Alycia Niebrzydowski, Crystal Meltzer, Jessica (Braylyn) Smith and Jodie Witt. Dear grandfather of Jayd (Brenden) Engel, Jason Niebrzydowski, Zona Niebrzydowski, Drake Niebrzydowski, Jaslyn Pettis, Aubrey Pettis, Layla Pettis, Grace Shabazz, Kaynen Witt, Avery Smith and Peyton Smith. Dearest great-grandfather of Daniel Engel. Great-uncle of Brandon Garcia and Kevin Turner. Brother of Carolyn Canady, Beatrice Johnson ,Marylou Radford ,Sharon Macaulay ,Donna Guinon, David Meltzer, Betty Miller and Gerald Meltzer. He will be missed by a large extended family, many friends and all who knew and loved him.

Dennis or also known as “Big Red” was a proud Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post in Wyandotte, Michigan. He was the ultimate family man and lived for his kids and grandkids especially after Jill, the love of his life passed away. May they be together again and all for eternity.

A celebration of Dennis’ life will take place on Saturday May 8, 2021 from 3:00 p.m until 8:00 p.m at Harry J. Will Funeral Home in Redford. Family and friends are welcome to join the sharing of memories at 6:00 p.m on Saturday, also at the funeral home.
