Florence Anna Steiff was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 26, 1923 to Horace and Elizabeth Reosti. She was one of six children. "Flo Flo" passed away peacefully in her Redford, Michigan home on Tuesday August 27, 2019 at the age of 96. Florence was under the gentle care of Assured Hospice and her family.
Florence was the beloved wife of the late Arthur G. Steiff for 44 years and he has been waiting for her in Heaven since 1990. Together they raised four children. Florence was the loving mother of David (Leah) Steiff, Rebecca Barry, Greg (Jean) Steiff and the late Arthur A. Steiff (d. 2002). Mother-in-law of the late Jean C. Steiff. Dear sister of Ronald Reosti, the late Dorothy Gleicher, the late Horace Reosti, the late Elizabeth Jacobson and the late Rosemarie Worden. Proud Grandma "Flo Flo" of Ron (Michelle) Barry, David (Susan) Barry, Randy Steiff, Matthew Steiff, Erich Steiff and Rachel Steiff. Great-grandma Flo Flo leaves behind her seven great-grandchildren; Andrew, Francesca, Allyson, Nathan, Connor, Alyvia and Brynn. She will also be missed by her loyal and smart companion, "Orange Cat"
Florence was a retired Administrative Director of the Teamsters Union for over 35 years. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and desserts. She was famous for her spaghetti dinners and liked to feed the neighborhood kids. However, her passion was her family. She simply loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandma "Flo Flo". She was a tiny lady with a giant heart. Flo Flo will be deeply missed by everyone that had the honor of being part of her life.
"Flo Flo's" family will receive guests for a visitation on Friday, August 30, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 25450 Plymouth Road, Redford Township, Michigan 48239. (Just east of Beech Daly Road).
The funeral service will begin at 11:00am on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at the funeral home. (Greeting and visiting will begin at 10:00am).
The funeral service and committal prayers will be led by Chaplain James Holifield of Assured Hospice.
Florence will be laid to rest with her husband and her son at Parkview Memorial Cemetery in Livonia, Michigan.
