James Robert Shippee, age 68 of Redford, Michigan, passed away July 21, 2023. James was born July 12, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan to James and Beverly Shippee. He was the loving brother of Margaret (Gordon) Knight and Karen (Rick Gevers) Burns. Dear father of William (Naho) English. Proud grandfather of Kya, Ryden, and Randi English. He will be especially missed by beloved friend Carrie Goldie.
James attended Western Michigan University where he earned a degree in Music Education. He spent his career in elementary education as a teacher, musician, and coach. He loved dogs and cats.
A memorial for James will be held Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Christ Episcopal Church, 120 N Military St., Dearborn, MI 48124. Visiting will start at 10:00am with a service at 11:00am. The Shippee family would like anyone who feels inclined to make a donation to the charity of their choosing.
