So sorry to hear of  uncle  Norman passing .He was truly a  kind and gentle man I will always remember his smile  and stories of the past .. and present May he rest on eagles wings.     Love and comfort to his family...

I have allot of memories from growing up with seeing my aunts and uncles usually it seemed only on holidays at my grandma Guilbaults house in the basement. Later on in life as I was older, I remember uncle Norm coming up to the bowling alley to watch me and Tim Guilbault and if my dad (Clem) was there to visit his brother which wasn't to often. I think those were the happiest times for both of them when they could see each other and talk. I remember my uncle Norm giving me a roof over my head when I really didn't have anywhere to go back then and back in 2013, me and my dad (Clem)  decided to drive my dad's car across country only to break down in Santa Rosa New Mexico and my dad called his brother Norman to help us out which he did without fail.  I'll always have the memory of my uncle Norm always making my dad (Clem) smile every time they saw each other whether it was once a year or more. I think  my uncle Norm was the kindest and most caring man that loved his family and loved his older brother(Clem) without a doubt. I will miss my uncle Norm very much.  God speed to ya uncle Norm. RIP.

When I think of Uncle Norm, I will always remember how kind he was.  He was my dad's (Clements') younger brother, closest in age out of 9 children.    As they grew older, they became much closer, and spent a lot of time visiting one another and having adventures together (especially after they were both widowed).   They looked out for each other too and always tried to help one another.  After my Dad moved to AZ to live with me when he was in his 80's, he insisted on going back to Detroit to see his brother 'every summer'; and that was the condition he had about moving in.  Every year, he went and spent his summers with Norm, and they would watch sports on TV, go to visit brother Ray and cousin Rick, and of course, frequent Norm's favorite restaurant, Archie's.

They also took road trips together, and Tim (Norm's son) and I would get on the phone and 'cringe' about the 2 of them driving all over Michigan and into the UP, worrying they'd get lost, break down, etc.; everything goes through your mind.  But those 2 went out to see the state and go to Copper Harbor, up into the UP where their mother, Dorothy Rynski Guilbault was from.  They had a blast and made lots of memories.  They admonished Tim and I that they needed to be able to do this 'while they still could'. 

I am comforted that they loved each other, and couldn't wait to spend every summer together, because they didn't get to see each other as much as they liked during their career and child raising years.

I could ALWAYS hear the love in my father's voice when he talked about his brother Norm, and I could hear the same in Norm's voice on the phone when he would talk to me about my Dad.  I am so happy they had each other.

Uncle Norm was also my Godfather, and I will always remember the kindness in his voice whenever he spoke to me, as well as his many kind and thoughtful gestures over the years.

Godspeed Uncle Norm; we will NEVER forget you!


We spent lost of time on my back deck in Canton. Norm loved being ouutside  watchingt he birds. Will miss him.

To those of us who grew up on tecumseh our lives were filled with laughter , kind moms hard working dads... snow forts... whiffle ball in the street, sledding . We all walked togather to school and normally home . The elementary school was one block away. Our folks were all friends and the kids were all friends. Norm was at times a quiet man, but the kindness in his eyes and voice told me he would always be a friend. God speed to you my life long neighbor!
