Sydney Warren Nelson

Loving father of Sandra (Richard) Moorhead and Patricia Nelson. Dear grandpa of Jennifer Conte and David Jasinski. Dear brother of Lefty Nelson from Jamestown, New York as well as brother of the late A. Edward & the late Rodney Nelson, both lived in Jamestown, New York.

Sydney served as a Sergeant in the Army Airforce during World War II. Just as recently as two weeks ago, he drove to Memphis, Tennessee to attend a reunion with the NAFD-ATC: North African Ferrying Division-Air Transport Command where he met up with the only other three remaining members of his division.

Syd was also a proud member of the Michigan Teamsters Joint Council #43 Retirees Club.

There will be a Memorial Service with Army Military Honors held in memory of Syd on Friday, May 13, 2011, 11:00am at:

Since Syd was a patriot 'till the end, the family wishes that everyone attending the Memorial Service please where red, white and/or blue clothing.

Immediately following the Services, everyone will be invited for a Luncheon with Sydney's family in the Fellowship Hall of the Church.

Sydney Warren Nelson will be laid to rest with his wife at Parkview Memorial Cemetery in Livonia, Michigan.

Memorial Donations may be made in Sydney's name to any Veteran related charity.
