Catherine Jeanne Kelley was born February 8, 1955 in Cleveland, Ohio, the fifth of nine children to Frank and Martha Beaumont. She moved to Woodinville, Washington in 1986 with her husband Alan Kelley and raised their four children in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Cathy passed peacefully on June 25, 2023 surrounded by family.
Growing up, Cathy loved reading and could always be found with her nose in a book. She was also a devout Christian, meticulous embroiderer, and avid gardener. Cathy met her husband Alan at UCLA in 1977 after she completed her bachelor’s degree in anthropology. They wed on July 14, 1979 in her mother’s backyard, and she spent many years of her life dedicated to her family as a loving wife and mother to four children. She frequently liked to joke that she used her degree in anthropology to civilize four barbarians.
Cathy led a life full of love, warmth, and generosity. She was an incredible cook whose fettuccine alfredo and chocolate chip cookies were nothing short of epic. Cathy was also a deep thinker and loved discussing theology and history with her friends and family. She was very active in her church, loved dark chocolate and peppermint tea, and liked to spend her evenings enjoying life with her family.
Cathy is survived by her brothers and sisters, her four children Lorraine, Michael, James, and Edward, nine grandchildren, and her loving husband Alan.
Flowers can be delivered to Bellevue Presbyterian Church and/or Cedar Lawns Funeral Home.
