

He passed away at his home in North Bend, Washington. He is also survived by two daughters, Valerie Lynn Cohen of Radcliff, Kentucky, and Angela (Duane) Nickols of Ft Worth Texas and two sons, Leonard Sterling of Los Angeles, California and Claude Sterling of Akron, Ohio, 20 grandchildren 43 great grandchildren and 14 great, great grandchildren, a brother and sister Abraham Sterling(Barbara) of Perris, California and Marie Waldon of Phoenix, Arizona. He was preceded in death by a daughter Sheila Sterling.
Claude was born February 28, 1928 in Dallas Texas, Enlisted in the U. S. Air Force June 13, 1951; spent ten years serving his country and was honorably discharged on October 12, 1961.
He left the service and settled in the Bellevue, Washington area. He started The Sterling Company, a construction company, where he designed, built and remodeled homes and buildings. His favorite project was designing and building decks for his friends and associates. His passion for building homes was evident by the compliments he received from those for whom he worked. He also helped many who did not have the skills to do smaller projects at their homes as well. Many will reflect on his handiwork as they look around their homes for years to come.
There will be a military service and urn committal at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 10:00 am.
