

Omid Ali Mantashi, 59, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 27, 2025, due to complications from a stroke. He was staying at his mother’s home in Bellevue, Washington, and was spending time with his loved ones and family in his final days. Born on September 16, 1965, in Tehran, Iran, Omid was the son of Azizollah and Parvaneh Mantashi. Omid attended the University of Washington for his bachelor’s degree in political science where he was the first ever valedictorian, being awarded the Robert Alan Dahl Award for Academic Excellence. He also attended the University of California, Berkeley for his Master of Philosophy in Comparative Politics, and New York University for his Juris Doctor in Intellectual Property. Omid worked as an attorney for his own business, where he specialized in intellectual property litigation and prosecution, creating lasting friendships with his clients. Omid had a deep passion for learning and sharing his knowledge with his loved ones, especially his nephews and nieces. He was an avid adventurer – a lover of travel, nature, and adrenaline-filled motorcycle rides – as well as an avid Washington Huskies fan, always sporting purple and gold. Omid was an astounding chef and gardener, always crafting his own recipes and sharing his creations with his loved ones. He will be remembered for his limitless intellect and passions. Omid is survived by his mother, Parvaneh, and his two sisters, Sholeh and Parastoo. His brilliance, kindness, and adventurous spirit left a permanent mark on all who knew him, and his legacy of wisdom and love will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
