Arthur did his studies in England; he oriented his career towards telecommunication. World War II had started so since his love was always going into the Navy, passed his exams to take up a position as ship's Radio Officer. His war service took him to the invasion of North Africa, Italian Campaigns, Atlantic Convoys and eventually to serve with combined British and American Fleets in the South Pacific. He finally ended his war-time career in the Philippines waiting at Subic Bay for the planned invasion of Japan. That plan was never actuated due to the Atomic Bomb.
After the war he took further exams so that he could continue to serve on various ships as Radio Officer because the sea life was his love. That love of the sea never left him. He met his wife Vera on one of his leaves but still continued serving in the Merchant Navy but things happen and son Barry was born. Since it was time to say a very fond farewell to the ocean, he took up employment ashore.
In 1957 he immigrated to the U.S. and started a new life; he managed to get a job with Hughes Aircraft in the Division that had started in the manufacture of solid state electronics. He helped to form a Company called Hybridyne VP of Manufacturing, eventually finished up as an Associate Director with Teledyne Micro Electronics. After retirement he enjoyed saying hello again to the Oceans that he always so much, enjoying many cruises into different parts of the world.
Arthur said "My life has been wonderful, a few dark points but we all have these. God for whatever reason gave me his blessing, that I know because so many times he directed me on the right course, even though I was unaware of his presence. Thank you Barry, Marsha, my Granddaughter Anjulie, thank you for my partner Marjorie who also was another of God's Blessings who I could never thank enough."
