George Jerome Whitney

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved, father, grandfather, brother and friend. George Jerome Whitney entered eternal life on May 14th, 2025. George was born in Torrance, California on December 5th, 1949.

He was born and raised in Redondo Beach and lived his entire life in the South Bay. He met his wife, Dianne Whitney at Aviation high school & married in 1971. They were married for 49 years before Dianne’s passing in 2021. Together they owned Whitney Interiors for 30 years & raised a beautiful family. Later he worked for Home Depot in the home decor department retiring in 2009. George loved camping, country music, horse racing, trips to Laughlin or Vegas and most of all his children and grandson.

He is survived by his, daughter and son in law, Tiffany & Luke Taylor, Son, Trevor Whitney, Daughter, Breanna Whitney, Grandson Parker Taylor, Brother and Sister in Law Ken and Jo Whitney, Brother Jim Whitney and Sister and Brother in law Pam and Fred Mayers, George was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Ruth Whitney, Brothers Harry, Roger, Bobby, Harvey, and Dennis Whitney, Sisters Ruth and Jane Whitney and Daughter, Christine Whitney.
