

50 year Redwood City resident, Ann Corrales, died peacefully on Thursday, April 26, after a twelve year bout with Multiplemyeloma Cancer. A native of Los Angeles County, She was born on June 23, 1938 in Long Beach California to Antonia and Modesto Lopez. Seventeen years later she graduated from Huntington Park, High School and later graduated from the Latin American Bible Institute of La Puente, California in 1959 with a diploma in Biblical Studies.
She married the Reverend Paul Corrales, a Redwood City resident, in 1959, and they moved to San Mateo where Paul began his Ministry as Assistant Pastor of Templo La Luz Church in Redwood City, a bilingual Assembly of God Church founded by Paul’s Father Rosendo. In 1963 they moved to Redwood City where they continued to live and serve their Church congregation for a total of fifty three years. In 1978 Paul became Senior Pastor of the Church. To the members of her congregation she is especially remembered as a gentle, graceful woman of great influence who provided inspiration and motivation as a godly matriarch. Annie, affectionately called, was a great cook, loved craft-making, and gardening.
Aside from being a Pastor’s wife Ann was active as Sunday School Teacher, Church Pianist/Song Leader, Children’s Church Leader, Girls Club (Missionette) leader and Program Coordinator, advisor to Women’s ministry, Lay Counselor, and a host of other personal contributions. In the mid seventies she belonged to a bowling league at the Woodside Plaza Bowling facility, and later worked at Fair Oaks Elementary School as a Kindergarten Teacher’s Aide.
Ann is survived by her husband Paul Corrales, who continues to serve as Senior Pastor of Templo La Luz Church, three children David (Stella) Corrales, Leila (Jim) Wagener, and Steve (Jennifer) Corrales, nine grandchildren David, Tyler, Stephanie, Rebekah, Elijah, Joshua, Brianna Wagener, Lauren Wagener, and Nathan.
Friends are invited to attend a 6:00 p.m. Viewing on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the Peninsula Covenant Church 3560 Farm Hill Boulevard, Redwood City, CA. 94061 followed by a 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service. Final Viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the Redwood Chapel Funeral Home at 847 Woodside Road, Redwood City followed by a Committal Service at the Alta Mesa Memorial Park at 695 Arastradero Road, Palo Alto, CA. 94306. Friends are also invited to attend a Lunch Reception at Watters Hall, Woodside Road United Methodist Church at 2000 Woodside Road, Redwood City, CA. 94061.
