

Gordon Frederick Wilson, age 78, passed away on January 8, 2026. A proud member of the Muscogee “Creek” Nation. He was born on June 24, 1947, in Bakersfield, California. He spent most of his childhood and formative years in Parlier, California, where he attended Parlier schools beginning in the first grade and later graduated from Parlier High School.
During his high school years, Gordon was deeply involved in both athletics and the arts. He proudly represented Parlier High School as a multi-sport athlete, playing football, basketball, and baseball. Beyond sports, Gordon had a creative spirit and a love for performance. He acted, sang, and played the saxophone—talents that reflected his vibrant personality and wide-ranging interests.
Following his graduation from high school, Gordon answered the call to serve his country. On July 16, 1966, he enlisted in the United States Army. He was a proud member of the elite 101st Airborne, 75th Infantry Division, Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol, where he completed three tours of duty in Vietnam. Throughout his service, Gordon demonstrated extraordinary bravery and dedication. He was awarded the Bronze Star, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Purple Heart, along with numerous other merits and badges in recognition of his valor, sacrifice, and exemplary service. In addition, he continued his commitment to service as a Sergeant in the California National Guard for an additional ten years.
Gordon is reunited in peace with his parents, Dan and June Wilson, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia Wilson; brother, Ronnie Wilson; his daughter and son-in-law, Dawn Michele and Mark Casaus; his daughter, Tammy Wilson; his son and daughter-in-law, Gordon “Barry” and Tanya Wilson; and his cherished grandchildren, Chris, Destin, Dakota, Katelyn, Cheyenne, Giovanni, and Tuscany.
Gordon carried great pride in his military service throughout his life and remained deeply honored to have served his country alongside his fellow soldiers. He will be remembered for his courage, his many talents, and the passion he brought to everything he did - whether on the field, on stage, or in uniform. His legacy of service, devotion to family, pride in his heritage and strength of character will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Services will be held starting at 10 AM on Friday, February 6, 2026.

1:00 PM – 4:00 PM – Celebration of Life @ Eagles Lodge, 1230 11th Street, Reedley
