Anne was born on April 15, 1933, in Lestock, SK, to George and Rosie Smith. At the age of 18, she met the love of her life, Louis Gartner. They were married on June 8, 1954, and together built a life rooted in hard work, family, and farm living. The family farm became the heart of countless memories – a place where Anne’s love and presence were felt by all who gathered there.
Anne will be remembered for her kind heart, playful spirit, and incredible strength. She loved caring for children and found great joy in cooking, baking, and tending to her garden. She enjoyed attending dances, community gatherings, playing cards, and spending time with family.
Her legacy lives on in the generations she raised and the values she instilled – love of family, resilience, and the importance of enjoying life’s simple moments.
A celebration of life will be held this summer, with details to be announced.
