

Clara (Cleo) Chief started her journey on to the spirit world on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 with her children and close family by her side. She was predeceased by her father Lawrence Alexander (2004); mother, Edna Chief (1991); and brothers Ernest Chief (1965) and Calvin Alexander (1998). Clara is survived by her children Misty Chief, Forrest Chief-Kequahtooway, and Fallon Chief-Kequahtooway; and grandchildren Luke Kequahtooway-Magera, Jaymas Chief-Kequahtooway, Kiara Dubois, Kimora Chief, Jacob Dubois, and Cedar Chief. She is also survived by the father of her children Forrest and Fallon, Roland Kaye; and sisters-in-law Margaret Akachuck and Elizabeth Kequahtooway whom she took as sisters; sisters Rose Omani, Angeline Berland, Pauline Orton, Dorothy Gervais, Georgina Alexander, and Jeannie Chief; brothers Percy Alexander, Rodney Belly, Hubert Belly, Laverne Belly, Lorne Faithful, Lloyd Chief, Allan Chief, George Chief, Ronald and Leslie Alexander (twins); and numerous aunts and uncles on her mother’s side, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Clara was a talented photographer, poet, and painter. She’s a grandmother who looked out for her grandchildren. She was happiest when she was doing her paintings and saw art in everything. A traditional wake will be held at the Indigenous Christian Fellowship Centre, 3131 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at 4:00pm. Service to follow on Monday, March 16, 2020 at 10:00a.m. followed by the interment and a lunch.
