Deanna "Bean" Marie George

It is with heavy hearts that we announce Deanna (Bean) passed away in Regina, SK, at the age of 48 years. She is predeceased by her parents, father, Angus Sunkawasti, of Whitebear First Nation, and mother, Zilda (Orville) Peigan, of Pasqua First Nation; nephews, Marshall and Damon Laplante; her cousin sister, Elizabeth George (Babes); and adopted son, James Matachuk.

She is survived by her children, Austin, Shay-lynn, and Trista; her granddaughters; siblings, Kelsey H. George, Cherlynn George, Olivia (Livi) Peigan, Jamie Peigan, Yvette Strongeagle; her life-long companion, Dwayne Matachuk; best friend, Stacey Stonechild; adopted children, Breanna Matachuk, Ryan (Riggs) Matachuk, Janelle Matachuk; special nieces, Haley George, Shayleen (Honey) Matachuk; relatives and all her friends and family of Regina.

Family meant a lot to her, and she loved her children so much and her siblings. She was so good-hearted to her friends, being a lovely mom, sister, aunty. In this world, she tried her best and always helped out anyway she could. She is going to be forever loved and missed by all who knew and touched her heart. Deanna (Bean), we will love, remember and miss you always.

The Wake Service for Deanna will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026, starting at 4:00PM, at the Sakimay First Nation Band Hall. The Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, May 30,2026, at 1:00PM, at the same location. The interment will follow at the Sakimay First Nation Cemetery.
