Gary Wilfred Doidge

The family of Gary Doidge sadly announce his passing in Regina, SK on Monday, May 27, 2019. Gary was born on May 11, 1961 in Lanigan SK, the fourth child and only son in our family. Gary started life in Jansen, SK, moving with his family to Semans, SK in 1968. He completed school in Semans, and after graduation worked there for several years until moving to Regina, where he lived the rest of his life. The majority of his working years were spent at AgCo Parts Division.

Gary was a kind-natured, likeable and helpful person. He was a reliable employee, and after work enjoyed fellowship with his friends. He supported Mom well and visited her faithfully as she aged. He lived on Thorn Crescent for many years, and developed relationships with neighbours there. He enjoyed socializing, had a great sense of humour, and could be the life of the party when he wanted. We still hear stories of his imitations and antics which he performed years ago. He maintained his many friendships as best he could.

Sadly, Gary had challenges in his life, which ultimately caused him to develop health problems in 2016, and he was not able to work thereafter. Between 2016 to 2018, much time was spent in the hospital. He spent the last fourteen months of his life at a comfortable apartment, and was thankful for caretakers Larke and Bob. He remained close to his sisters, with whom he was in contact on a daily basis. He passed away peacefully at his home on May 27.

His family is thankful for many people who assisted and supported him over the years: neighbours, friends, many health care professionals and services, boss Gary and coworkers at AgCo, and others too numerous to mention, but we hope you will know who you are.

Gary was predeceased by his grandparents; parents Wilfred and Elizabeth (Nadiger) Doidge; aunts; uncles; and brothers-in-law Wayne Bolt, Wally Davidson and Perry Masters. He will be missed by sisters Joanne Bolt, Patricia Davidson, Linda (Dwayne) Law; nieces and nephews Dean Bolt, Chad Bolt, (Mandi Stewart), Brad Davidson, Mitch (Amanda) Davidson, Jared Davidson, Taryl Law (Colette Munnelly), Janelle Law; great nieces and nephews Hannah Bolt, Hayley and Jake Davidson, Bennett Shulist and Nova Davidson; aunts Connie (Don) St. Onge and Elaine Nadiger; and many cousins and friends.

All are invited to the Celebration of Gary’s Life in Semans, SK at the Gymnasium on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 12:00 pm. Please dress casual and bring your favorite “Gary” story.
