Ilena Weinberger

December 25, 1937 to July 14, 2025

Ilena “Eileen” Weinberger, age 87, passed away peacefully at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, Regina, SK, surrounded by family. She lived a whole and vibrant life, marked by kindness, joy and a deep love for people. She was known for her warm heart and generous spirit, Eileen found true happiness in serving others and always putting their needs before her own. She had a lifelong passion for country and polka music and could often be seen tapping her toes to her favourite tunes or dancing with a smile that lit up the room. Eileen also loved to sing. Her presence brought comfort. Her laughter brought joy, and her legacy of love and service will be cherished forever.

Eileen is predeceased by her loving husband Andrew Weinberger (1989); daughter Arlene (2016) Brunsdon, and her husband Floyd; parents Fred and Teresa Schaeffer; brothers Lawrence (Margaret), Christ (Betty), Bert (Shirley), Donald (Franci); sister Martha (Ralph).

She is survived by her children: Bonny (James) Kuntz, Angela (Glenn) Fink, Janet (Robert) Schaeffer, and Shelley (Greg) Biggs; brother Phillip (Beatrice); sisters Lydia and Lorraine (Joe); grandchildren: Jackelyn (Ryan), Justin (Heather), Andrew, Brittany (William), Joshua (Britney), Shanda (Kendal), Natasha (Shaddy), and Vanessa; great grandchildren: Berkley, Oliver, Summer, Rockwell, Lily, Jade, Hudson, Layne, Tristen, Micah, and Wesley.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and staff of Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, unit 2-5, for the kindness and care they showed Eileen.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Victoria Avenue Funeral Home on Thursday August 7, 2025, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Eileen’s name can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
