

Our dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Irene passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 86. She was born on March 25, 1933. Irene was predeceased by her husband Gil in 2012. She is survived by her four children Glen (Brenda) Goetz, Sheila (Tony) Hasenfratz, Sandra (Greg) Gudbranson, Noreen (Bill) Haysom; eleven grandchildren Julie Adams, Natasha (Peter) Chau, Nathan Hasenfratz, Nolan (Lyndsay) Hasenfratz, Michael (Johanna) Goetz, Jered (Katelynn) Gudbranson, Deanna Goetz (Josh Fischer), Curtis (Brittany) Doehl, Celina (Justin) Wirtz, Jaclynn Doehl, Jonathan Gudbranson; and nine great-grandchildren Jacob and Stephen Adams, Nicholas and Aria Goetz, David Chau, Brooke and Jada Hasenfratz, Mason and Lucas Wirtz. Irene is survived by her sister and brothers Lorraine Tressel, Harold (Monica), Norman (Shirley), Lloyd (Donelda); and sister-in-law Emilia Hassman. She is also survived by Gil’s sisters and brothers-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. Irene is predeceased by her parents Caroline and Louis Hassman; sister Darlene; and brothers Rudy and Wally. Irene’s pride and joy was spending summers at Sherwood Forest Country Club with the family and numerous friends. Mesa, Arizona was her winter home with her snowbird family. Irene has touched many hearts and will be missed by all who knew her. The family would like to thank Dr. Kyle MacDonald, nurses, and staff of Unit 3D at Pasqua Hospital; and sincere thanks to the staff at Regina Wascana Grace Hospice for their support and compassionate care who looked after Irene in her final days. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter’s R.C. Church, 100 Argyle Street North in Regina, SK. on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Donations in memory of Irene may be made to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK, S4T 7T, or to the Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina, SK, S4R 8P6.
