James Franklin Larose

He is survived by his daughters Shari (Kevin) and Christa; son Marc (Tamara); grandchildren Braeden, Mikaela, Anikin, Justin, Juniper and Aspen; twin sister Germaine and her children Gerid, Elizabeth (Clinton) and Rematgen; special nephew Dale Jr. - mushum to her grandchildren; sister Jeraldine,Janette (Brent); brothers Dale Sr., Fred (Margaret), Ronnie and Terry; special sister-in-law Doreen Lankey; special friend Donna and her family; and his beloved dog Mojo.

He was predeceased by parents Frank and Louise LaRose (nee Okeewehow); siblings Joanne, Gerald, Gale, Sandy, Dennis, Garth, Frank Jr. and Gloria.

He was born on October 5, 1958 at the Grey Nuns (Pasqua) Hospital. He was born 6 minutes before his twin sister. His offical birthday was later changed to December 10, 1958. He was raised at Kisbey, SK with his twin as wards of the court. He attended Arcola High until grade 10. He was an avid sportsman in high school, taking many honors and setting records in the long-run. James then moved to Moose Jaw, SK to complete his education at the trades school. He obtained his certificate in short order cooking. He met and married his wife Carol and had three children: Shari, Christa and Marc.

He worked at various jobs, but was mostly proud of his work on the highways as a paver, laying the hot oil out. He later retired to Fort Qu'Appelle, SK reconnecting with his birth family.

James moved to Regina, SK, gained many close friends and was able to finally attend and become the loudest 13th warrior of his beloved Riders.

Wake and Feast to honor the life of James (the Bear) will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Regina Senior Citizens' Centre, 2404 Elphinstone Street, Regina, SK at 11:00 a.m.

The family would like to thank the staff at Elmview Extended Care, the staff and doctors at the Pasqua Hospital and the staff on the 3rd floor for their compassionate care.

James will be Interred at Muscowpetung burial grounds on a later date.
