

Peacefully, Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the age of 93. Beloved husband of the late Janet Hopkin. Loving father of Linda and Susan and stepfather of Randy (Corla) McGillivray, Carol (Jim) MacLaren, Joan Popoff (Gary), Mary Ann (Rick) Hack, Rachel (Alan) Lovitz and Rebecca McGillivray (Iain), Cherished grandfather of Candice Hopkin, Chad Hopkin, Brad Hopkin, Erica Peterson, Duncan McGillivray, Ian McGillivray, Alexander McGillivray, Melissa Deering, Scott Deering, Jennifer Fehr, Bryan Hack, Adam Lowthian, Victoria Lanning and Jordan Lovitz. Dear brother of Ed. Will be fondly remembered by his great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his children Steven (late Jackie) and Stuart Hopkin and his parents William and Elizabeth.
Ken was born and raised in Regina, where he attended Balfour Collegiate. After graduation, he built a long and successful career with SaskPower. In 1953, Ken married Lorna, and together they welcomed four children. He dedicated himself to raising them with love and care, while also enjoying carpentry, gardening, and family time at Carlyle Lake and later at Regina Beach. In 1986, Ken married Janet, the love of his life and his greatest companion. Together they embraced retirement with joy — travelling, spending summers at Regina Beach, and, most of all, sharing cherished time with their children and grandchildren. Following Janet’s passing, Ken continued to live independently until the age of 90. In recent years, he resided at Victoria Park Personal Care Home. Ken will be remembered as a kind, gentle, and caring father and grandfather who deeply valued his family.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Victoria Avenue Funeral Home, 2080 Victoria Avenue East ,Regina. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to, may make a donation to the Parkinson Canada are appreciated.
