Ken was a very kind and generous individual who always ensured that others were looked after first. Growing up on a farm at Avonlea, he learned the value of hard work, honesty, accountability, and friendship. Characteristics he lived by. Ken retired from his working career with the Province of Saskatchewan in 2009. Ken was always up for a good debate regardless of the topic, but the discussion usually ended up with either politics or sports. He was an avid sports enthusiast, playing hockey, baseball and curling until his health prevented him from going to the rink. Ken also generously volunteered his time to curling and football events hosted in Regina and many of his son’s baseball and hockey teams as a coach and manager. Undoubtedly some of his favorite times were spent at the hockey rink with his son where he met many friends, however, he also enjoyed the time spent with his daughter away from the hockey rinks. He was a passionate Saskatchewan Roughrider fan and always looked forward to getting together with his football buddies. Ken enjoyed travelling throughout Canada and the USA, and many summer vacations were spent travelling to hockey and baseball tournaments. Recently, he was most happy visiting his children and grandson in Alberta.
