Larry Luhning

Larry was born and raised on the family farm outside of Lumsden. He met his wife Linda in 1981 and they were married in 1984. Their 39th wedding anniversary would have been on June 30th 2023. Together, they raised two great children; Brittany and Brody. Larry took great pride in his children and grandson Heinrich, who was the apple of his eye.

Larry was a true farmer at heart. He loved nothing more than spending time outside tending to his crops and livestock and was proud of the farm that his family built over the years. When he wasn’t working on the farm, or watching his children play sports, he was found cheering on his favourite local and professional teams, especially in hockey and baseball.

Larry will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife Linda, his children Brittany (Ryan) and Brody (Elise), and his grandson Heinrich. He is also survived by his mother, Margaret, his two brothers, Lloyd (Sandi) and Ken (Fay) and many special nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He is predeceased by his father, Alfred.

Larry’s genuine nature, kindness, and love for his family and farm will never be forgotten.

A celebration of Larry’s life with be held on Monday, July 17th, 2023 at 1:00pm at the Lumsden Centennial Hall in Lumsden.
