Lucia was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on February 20, 1933, and was predeceased by her parents, Alexander and Johanna Graf, parents-in-law, John and Catherine Harold, sister-in-law Mary Harold, nephew Tom Harold, as well as several uncles and aunts. She is survived by her devoted “Schatz”, Stephen, her children: Brent (Ardyth Milne) Harold – Regina, David (LeeAnne) Harold – Regina, Keera (Alvin) Carpentier – Regina, Linda (Steven) Pye – Calgary, Cathy (Mike) Ryan – Toronto, Omi’s beloved Angels: Dana, Emma, Luke, Claire and Ben Harold, Natasha and Stephanie Pye, Caden and Analise Ryan and Tony Carpentier; her brothers: Kurt (Joyce) Graf – Palo Alto, California, George Robert (Maureen) Graf – Dallas, Texas, brother-in-law John Harold – Regina, as well as nieces nephews and a cousin. She grew up in Winnipeg, where she enjoyed taking piano lessons and sports. She moved to Saskatoon for high school and received Bedford Road’s Proficiency medal upon graduation. She went to the U of S for her B.A., and then to Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois for her M.A. in speech pathology and audiology. She worked at the mental health clinic in Regina and then the cerebral palsy clinic in Edmonton (now Glenrose Hospital). She moved back to Regina and started working with pre-school hearing impaired youngsters. She loved children, and worked with them the rest of her career. She was an executive member of many provincial and national organizations including the Saskatchewan Speech and Hearing Association and A.G. Bell Association. Her interests included arts and crafts, sewing for her children and grand-children, sports, paying the piano, and a good game of bridge. In retirement, she and Steve travelled extensively to countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and South America, as well as every province in Canada. She was a member of the Mackenzie Gallery volunteers, and she enjoyed her work as a docent. She was a charter member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, and played the pump organ when they first started services, taught Sunday school, served on the council and many other committees. She especially loved her family, and enjoyed nothing more than cooking and baking for them at the regular Sunday dinners. She was much loved, and will be greatly missed. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on January 31, 2015 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 3510 Queen Street, Regina.
