While many knew him for his profound contribution to broadcasting, Manfred was an incredibly talented man in many other ways.
He loved to detail and repair vehicles, making them seem brand new. He could build, renovate and remodel any home in any shape and make it like a show home. If he didn’t know how to do it he would learn how to and just do it.
He was an amazing cook and always eager to make his special dishes for family and friends. He loved animals, cats and pandas were his favourite.
For over 45 years Manfred went fishing at Dogtooth Lake in Kenora, Ontario. He knew the lake like the back of his hand, day or night. He gave us so many wonderful memories at his favourite place. This will be his final resting place as he requested.
Manfred’s family was his pride and joy. He loved them and always put their needs before his own. He is survived by wife Darlene Hincks Joehnck; his daughter Melissa (Julius) Mushikori and their daughter Asia; son Mathew Joehnck; stepson Andrew Hincks and his children Aairc, Payton and Philip; sisters Jutta Miller, Linda Joehnck and sister-in-law Donna Joehnck. Manfred was predeceased by his mother and father, Ilse and Hans Joehnck; brother Klaus Joehnck; grandmother Emma Schroeder and brother-in-law Verne Miller.
A Celebration of Manfred’s Life will be held at Rosewood Park Alliance Church, 1300 N. Courtney Street, Regina on Monday, February 12, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Manfred’s memory may be made to the Ryan Schlechter Foundation for Addictions and Mental Health, 6986 Maple Brook Crescent, Regina, Saskatchewan S4X 4J4 or [email protected]
