With sadness and love the nieces and nephews of Lucy Therens announce her passing at the Regina General Hospital at the age of 101 years. Lucy, daughter of Etienne and Jeanne-Marie Moulin, was born in Montreal, Quebec on July 23, 1910. Lucy came to Saskatchewan with her parents in 1915 and lived on a farm south of Glentworth where she helped with the care of her brothers and sisters. In 1936 Lucy married Tony Therens, and made their home in Lafleche, SK. In 1943 they took up farming in Meyronne, SK. Lucy and Tony never had children of their own. Their nieces & nephews, that they helped care for, have many fond memories of the farm. In 1966 they sold the farm and moved back to the town of Lafleche, SK. In 1970 Lucy and Tony moved to Regina, SK., to manage an apartment building. Lucy missed the farm but enjoyed the people and apartment living. In 1990 Lucy and her sister Alice moved in together. In 1996 they made their last move to Davis Mews, Independent Living. Predeceased by her husband Tony in 1984, her mother Jeanne-Marie in 1924, her father Etienne in 1966, a sister Juliette at birth in 1908, her brother Andrew in 1964, her brother Paul in 1997, her sister Germaine in 1999, her brother Fern in 2003, her sister Alice in 2006, and her brother Marcel in 2009. Lucy leaves to mourn her many nieces, nephews and friends. Prayers will be held on Monday, January 16, 2012 at Victoria Avenue Funeral Home, 2080 East Victoria Avenue at 7pm. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 10:30 am, at Holy Child Parish, 2636 7th Avenue East, with Rev. Danilo Rafael officiating. A special thank you to all of those who provided care, assistance, and support at the Regina General Hospital, 3E Internal Medicine Ward.
