

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Ramona Blevins (Hennings) on Feb. 25, 2014 at Parkside Extendicare in Regina, Sk. Ramona was born in Polk County Nebraska in 1915, she moved to Star City in 1924. Ramona was predeceased by her parents Charles and Sophie Hennings, Husband Harold, son Dickie, daughter Beverly (Klippenstine), brothers Orville, Norman, and Keith as well as sister-in-laws Olive (Hennings), Mary (Hennings) and special friend Ann Mitchell who was always a great help to Ramona. Ramona is survived by her son Jim (Gail), son-in-law Gordon (Sharon), grandchildren Marc (Hope), Dwight (Magdalena), Kevin (Kim), Kim (Tom) as well as seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews that were very special to her. Ramona was a great homemaker, wonderful cook and always kept a large garden which she shared her produce with many people. Ramona lived in her own home in Star City until the age of 90, she then moved to Regina where she received great care at Bentley Place as well as Parkside Extendicare. While living in Star City she operated the café at the Queens hotel, she then went on to work at the Melfort Journal. Ramona was an active member of the UCW, Star City Community Club and the Star City Royal Purple. Ramona loved knitting and crocheting and sharing her handiwork with friends and family, as well as participating in various card games. The family would like to thank the care givers, Adeline Campbell, Marge Elder and all the caring people of Star City who helped her live in her own home for so many years and enjoy a great life in Star City. Also a special thanks to Bob and Carole Kirkland for always being available to assist Ramona, as well as Lorna Mitchell for her letters she wrote to Ramona in Regina.
