Theresa Kirsch, late of Balcarres Integrated Care Centre, formerly of Regina and Cupar passed away peacefully on Monday, August 22, 2016. She was predeceased by her husband, George, in 1969, her son Joe, daughter-in-laws Doreen, Dianne, Terry, her brothers Kasper, Tony, Reinhold, Arnold and sisters Elizabeth, Margaret, Marie, Helen and Mildred. Theresa is survived by her sons Bob (Sheila), Larry (Donna) and daughter Jeannette (Dick); seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sisters Anne, Irmgard and Linda; brother Wilfred as well as many nieces and nephews. Theresa was born to Anthony Paidel and Elizabeth Novak in Killaly, Saskatchewan and grew up with 6 brothers and 8 sisters. She went to work at a very early age and her work ethics never changed. Her motto was ‘if you’re going to do it, do it right.” When she met up with George things changed. They were married and worked alongside the members of the farming Kirsch family in Dysart until the day came when they decided to start out on their own farm. They purchased a farm at Cupar and started farming. Their son Joe was the first to arrive, followed by Bob and then Jeannette. Son Larry must have lost his way as he showed up ten years later. Theresa had many talents and sewing was one of them. Many dresses came out of her sewing machine, not to mention all the patching and mending. There wasn’t any job she was afraid to tackle. Gardening was also a must and many hours were spent picking vegetables and canning. Theresa worked at the Cupar Hospital as a nurse’s aide for many years. George passed away in 1969 and the family farm was sold. Theresa then moved to Regina where she earned Certificates in both Nursing and Geriatric Aide and worked at the Santa Maria Senior Citizens Home for many years. Her little body played out and she spent the last four years in the Balcarres Long Term Care Home where she was well looked after until her passing. Flowers most gratefully declined. Those wishing may make donations in memory of Theresa to the Cupar Cemetery Improvement Fund or a charity of their choice.
