

He was the loving husband of Patricia (Hignite) Snyder.
Born in Reading on March 3, 1948, he was a son of the late Charles A. Sr. and Pearl (Beck) Snyder.
Charles was a U.S. Army veteran and served two tours in Vietnam.
He was employed for 19 years with Penn Optical as a lensmaker and at one time made prisms for guided missiles. He retired in 2010 after 22 years with the former Arrow International Inc. before it became Teleflex.
Charles was a stubborn man but was known to be direct and speak his mind. He loved teaching kids, particularly the Boy Scouts who he taught archery on Hawk Mountain.
In addition to his wife, Pat, Charles is survived by three sons: Charles A. "Charlie" Snyder III of Reading, Lester H. Livinghouse and his wife, Colleen, of Reading; and Jason P. Living-house and his wife, Tara, of Myerstown; and four grandchildren: Christina, Abigail, Rylee and Jude.
Also surviving is a sister, Leeanna Stauffer, and her husband, Abraham, of Reading.
Services for Charles are private and at the convenience of the family.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers sent to the home, the donor chooses a charity of their choice to donate to.
