Doris Mae Bates

Doris Mae Bates, 78, passed away Tuesday December 22, 2020 in Berks Heim. She was predeceased by her husband Richard G. Bates 12-8-2012. She was born in Elverson, PA on November 2, 1942 a daughter of the late Sylvester S. and Virginia E. (Henry) Hall. Doris was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Boyertown and was employed by H. Oritsky as a seamstress for 27 years until closing. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, sewing, volunteering at the Reading Hospital and delivering meals-on-wheels in her senior apartment complex. Surviving are her 4 children; Richard S. Bates (Jennifer) of Louisville, KY., Kathleen Missitti (Todd) of Queen Creek, AZ., Carol Moyer (William) of Oley, Scott Bates (Cheryl) Temple, PA., 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Doris has 2 sisters; Elizabeth Jane Dierolf of Pottstown, Mary Ella Neiman and brother, Thomas E. Hall of Wyalusing, PA.
