
Born in Reading on May 10, 1925, James was the son of the late Paul L. and Cora E. (Rogers) Dietrich.
James was a WWII U.S. Army veteran and served proudly for his country. Stateside, he took employment with Berylco NGK Metals Corp. as a maintenance worker and also belonged to the Steelworkers Union. He liked to travel, fish and hunt. He enjoyed Country music and spending time with his family and friends. He was known to be an avid beer drinker.
Surviving James are three sons: James M. Dietrich, Jr. and his wife, Kathy of Shillington, John L. Dietrich of Mohnton and Timothy J. Dietrich and his wife, Shannon of Reading; four daughters: Shirley Stuebner and her husband, John of Mohnton, Janice A. Arnold and her husband, Edward of Temple, Jane E. Gehman and her husband, Larry of Muddy Creek and Sharon Dietrich of Shillington; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Also surviving is a brother: Jesse Dietrich of Blandon.
James is predeceased by two brothers: Paul, Jr. and Clyde Dietrich and a sister: Betty Allen.
A funeral service for James will be held at 12:00pm on Monday, July 14, 2014 in Auman’s Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home Monday from 10:00am to 12:00pm. James will be laid to rest next to Jane in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reading.
