Mary J. George, 97, formerly of Reading, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2017, in Reading Hospital. Her husband of 55 years, David S. George, passed away in 1996. Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Bambino and Carmela (Mignogna) Giovanelli. She was employed as a Layout Operator with the former Western Electric, Reading for 27 years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of St. Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, Exeter Township. She and her husband were proud members of the Happy Boombadeers Club and they enjoyed traveling. She also enjoyed sewing.
Mary is survived by her daughters: Margaret "Peg," wife of Richard Uliasz, of Davenport, Florida, Dorothy, wife of Richard Bixler, of St. Lawrence, and Suzanne, wife of James Wilde III, of Taylors, South Carolina. She is also survived by her sister, Helen, widow of Frank Trumpio, of Bern Twp., and her brother, Nicholas Giovanelli, of Kenhorst. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Lisa Uliasz, Kelly Bixler, Rachel Murray, Beth, wife of Dr. Joel Garcia, Yvette, wife of Scott Reeser, and Christine Rhoads. Also her great-grandchildren: Sam, Danielle, Wilson, Jimmy, Grace, Nicky, Alex, Christopher and Teddy. She was predeceased by her siblings: George Sassani, Carmela Sassani, Margaret Giovanelli, Elba Giovanelli and Joseph Giovanelli.
