Born in Reading, he was a son of the late William K. and Joan C. (Shaner) Mayers.
Matt was a 1985 graduate of Exeter High School. He was employed for many years with Exeter Township working in the parks and recreation department.
Matt was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, especially when cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles. He enjoyed dirt track racing with his friends and also enjoyed cooking. He was an avid bowler all his life, having bowled 3 perfect games. His greatest happiness came from spending time with his kids.
Matt is survived by his children, Courtney A. Mayers and Gavin K. Mayers of Bernville and Brayden M. Mayers of Sinking Spring. He is also survived by his brothers, Douglas K. Mayers, husband of Beth of Wernersville and Keith S. Mayers of Exeter Township.
Services will be held in Auman’s, Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Road, Reading, Pa. (Exeter Township) on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 11:00 am. Friends and family may view on Wednesday from 7:00-9:00 pm and also on Thursday from 10:00-11:00 am in the funeral home.
