

Born in Birdsboro, he was a son of the late Charles and Mary (Hunsberger) Hoffman.
He is survived by his wife, Jean (Spayd) Hoffman.
Mel was a union sheet metal worker at Bohrer-Regan for 38 years.
He served in the U.S. Navy abroad the USS Valcour during the Korean War.
He enjoyed his family, traveling, jaunts to the casinos and his friends.
He was a member of Zion's UCC, Womelsdorf.
Also surviving are three sons: Terence Lee, Dennis Lee and Michael Lee, husband of Susan (Owen) Hoffman; and a daughter, Mary Selinda, wife of Jeff Shealer.
Other survivors include four grandchildren: Justin T. Hoffman; Cathlina S., wife of Nathanael Tolentino; and Caitlyn and Lauren Hoffman.
He is also survived by five great-grandchildren; a brother, Gerald "Jed" Hoffman; and former son-in-law, Jack Rinehart.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Joan Eckert and Shirley Dierolf; and a brother, Richard Hoffman.
Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Auman Funeral Homes, Reiffton. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township. Friends may call Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
