William "Red" Anthony Boyer, 84, of Exeter Twp., passed away on Friday evening, October 14, 2016 in Golden Living Center. He was the devoted husband of the late Virginia (Rapp) Boyer. The couple were married 47 years.
Born in Norristown, PA, he was the son of the late William L. and Mary E (Carlin) Boyer.
Red was a 1950 graduate of Reading Catholic High School and a veteran of the Korean War. Red retired after 40 years as a First Level Shift Supervisor from Western Electric Co., Inc. in Muhlenberg Twp.
Surviving is a brother in law, Frank S. Piehl, Sr. of Reading and a nephew, Frank S. Piehl, Jr. of Exeter Twp.
Also surviving is a great nephew, Jacob D. Piehl.
Services for Red will be at 11am on Thursday, 20, 2016 in Auman's Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606 with Rev. Barry Moyer officiating. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 from 6:30pm to 8pm. Red will be laid to rest beside his sweetheart, Virginia in Forest Hills Memorial Park.
