

He was born Dec. 12, 1926, in West Lawn, the son of the late Frederick M. Franks and Edna K. (Springer) Franks.
He retired from Met-Ed after 38 years of service in 1989.
William served during WWII in the U.S. Navy on the USS Argonne in the Pacific Theatre from 1944-1946. He also worked as a security guard at the Highlands.
William was preceded in death by his wife, June A. (Knauer) Franks, on June 21, 2011.
He is survived by his two children, David W. Franks and his companion, Sheila Palmieri, of Wernersville and Susan P. Wood and her husband, James, of Fleetwood.
He is also survived by his four grandchildren: Candace A. Wood, Heather N. Wood, Amy M. Franks and Eric D. Franks.
He is also survived by his brother, Cliff Franks of Exton; and sisters, Patricia Burkhart of Sinking Spring and Myrt Seifert of FL.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Steven F. Franks, and a daughter, Car-en L. Franks, and five siblings.
Graveside services will be held at Forest Hills Memorial Park on Thursday at 11 a.m.
The Auman Funeral Home, Reiffton, is in charge of the arrangements.
