Caretha Snoddy

Caretha Snoddy “Mother Dear” passed away on May 7, 2010. Her memory will be forever fixed in the hearts of her family, friends and loved ones. There was not a person that she did not know, there was no fear in what she had to say and all were welcomed in her home. Caretha Snoddy was born on October 6, 1921 in Longview, Texas to Clem and Annie Jones. Caretha graduated from Shiloh High School, Longview, Texas, worked at Rhodes Department Store, Group Health Medical Center and had her own Catering Service. She was married to the late Herman E. Snoddy Sr., who preceded her in death May 16, 1994. Also preceding her in death was her daughter Gloria J. Snoddy and grandson Vaughn D. Snoddy.

Caretha is survived by her daughter Caretha K. Snoddy, Son Herman E. Snoddy Jr. and His wife Carnella; Two Grand Daughters Pamela K. Snoddy and Chereis R. Booker and her husband Jamar Booker; four Great Grand Children Henri L. Taylor, Jaylin Booker, Mya Booker and Peyton Booker. Also, she is survived by three sisters Florence Beverly, Compton, California, Del Lynar Mosley, Longview, Texas; Peggye Barnes (Harold Barnes) Cerritos, California; one brother Maurice Jones, Dallas, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
