Castora "Nana" Butin Badua passed away peacefully September 04, 2019 in the comfort of home surrounded by the love of family at the age of 96. She was born May 26, 1923 in Sarrat, Ilocos Norte, Philippines to Andrea Ganal and Gaudencio Balisacan Butin. While in the Philippines, she was a trained Midwife and would travel throughout the barrio to deliver babies. She also worked on the farm alongside her husband, Pedro "Tata", to support their family. She immigrated to the US on February 25, 1978 where she resided in Hawaii with her family. Alongside with her family, on March 08, 1980, she moved to Washington where she enjoyed spending time with family and helped raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. And on July 2019, she met her great great-grandson. She was a very generous person, always giving. Not only did she help raise her family here in the US, but also helped support her family in the Philippines by constantly sending Balikbayan (care packages). She also supported family in the Philippines by helping further their education. Nana's legacy lives on through her daughters and son-in-laws, Matilde and Remigio Munoz, and Rozamilla and Reynaldo Paclibon; her grandchildren Remalynn Munoz, Ralna Leigh and Paul Manulat, Rosswell Paclibon, and Nigel-Andrew Paclibon; her great-grandchildren Brandon Christian Rubalcaba and Corina Vatthongxay, Aleja Lynn Rubalcaba, Anthony Luke Manulat, and Andrea Malia Manulat; and her great great-grandson Lance Koa Rubalcaba Vatthongxay.
