

Loma was born in Cottonwood, AZ on November 24th, 1926. She married Richard Smith in 1943 and had two children prior to their divorce, Richard Smith Jr and Kathleen Raye Keiser. Loma passed away on January 12th, 2026 at the age of 99, in Versailles, Kentucky.
Loma married Theodore “Ted” Taylor in 1968 in Phoenix, Arizona and shortly after moved to Longview, Washington. They settled in Renton, Washington a short time later and resided in Renton until she moved to Lexington, Kentucky to be closer to family in 2021. During her time in Renton, she was a grandma to all the neighborhood kids (at one time there was 28 of them), often hosting parties and get-togethers.
Throughout her life she had multiple jobs including being a top Mary Kay Consultant and selling real estate in Renton along with the surrounding area. Genealogy was her passion and she spent many years on research and traced family all the way back to the 1600s.
Loma and Ted where both very involved with their Jet-A-Bout Travel Club and enjoyed traveling in their RV with their many friends. Loma was very passionate about helping others and helping her community as well as volunteering with the American Legion, Daughters of the American Revolution, and their submarine club. She was an active member in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, an active member in her community and a good friend to many.
She is survived by her Granddaughter Kimberly (Clark) Andrus of Georgetown, Kentucky. Five Great Grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in Death by her parents Ernest and Elizabeth Sloper, her sister June Shimonowsky and brother William Sloper, her husband Ted, both her children and a grandson.
A visitation will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park Funeral Home, located at 350 Monroe Ave NE Renton, WA 98056 on February 2nd 2026 from 11 am to 12:30 PM
The committal service will take place at Tahoma National Cemetery, located at 18600 SE 240th st Kent, WA 98042 on February 2, 2026 at 1:30 PM
In lieu of flowers, donations in Loma’s memory may be sent to Fred Hancock American Legion Auxiliary Unit 19. 11021 SE 180th Street Renton, Wa 98055.
