

Francis (Butch) Lane CORBIN Francis (Butch) Lane Corbin, was 61 years old when he died July 15, 2011 at home with his wife Sandy by his side. He was born in Duluth, MN on April 6, 1950. At seventeen years old, Francis joined the US Army and proudly served his country in Vietnam. He returned to marry his one true love, Sandy in October 1969. He was then assigned to serve in Germany where they lived through April, 1970, at which time he was honorably discharged. They moved back to the US and in 1973 he found his true calling as a Doctor of Chiropractic; graduated from Palmer Chiropractic College in 1976, moved back to Renton, WA where he founded Corbin Chiropractic Clinic. Dr. Corbin was very active in Chiropractic Politics on both a state and international level. He was a founding member of the Washington State Chiropractic Association (WSCA); received the association's "Volunteer of the Year" award and in 2004 was honored with the "Pioneer" award. He is a past vice president of the International Chiropractic Association (ICA) received the International Chiropractor of the Year award in 1999 and was the Western Regional Director of the ICA for several terms. Dr. Corbin was appointed by Washington State Governor to serve several consecutive terms on the Chiropractic Disciplinary Board. As a devout Catholic he had served proudly on the pastoral board at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Renton, WA. He lived his life with the philosophy of God first; family second; and work third. He had such a zest for life, thoroughly enjoying activities that kept his family close, such as boating, camping and road trips. All who knew him will remember his hearty laughter, sincere love for life and the innate intelligence in all of us. Dr. Corbin is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sandy; his daughter Dr. Kimberly Corbin-Waters and her husband David; his son Dr. Chad Corbin, his wife, Dr. Jennifer Corbin and their daughter Adeline of Auburn, MI. He is also survived by his mother, Patricia Williams, his grandmother's husband, Wayne Clark; three siblings, many family members and dear friends. A public viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Greenwood Memorial Park Cemetery and Funeral Home, 350 Monroe Ave, NE, Renton, WA 98056 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. An online memory book is available for any and all to share their memories of Francis at www.greenwoodmempark.com. A Rosary will be prayed with an open casket at 1:00 PM at St. Stephan the Martyr Catholic Church, 13055 SE 192nd Street, Renton, WA 98058 (253) 631- 1940, followed by the funeral Mass at 2:00 PM. Burial at Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery in Federal Way will immediately follow the Mass. All who knew and loved Francis are welcome to attend the Rosary, Mass and burial. The family is grateful for the many people praying the Rosary, special prayers and Mass intentions on his behalf and would also like to thank the WSCA for their support and assistance in notifying his colleagues, the Maple Valley and Renton Fire Departments, and paramedics for their valiant effort to revive him. His was sincerely loved and will be deeply missed although his love and spirit remains in our hearts.
