I sure do miss you Grandpa.  I have tried to sit down & type something several times & just have not been able to do it through my tears.  For the past 5 years I called you daily & visited you often & it feels like there is an empty place in my heart without you here with us.  Most of all I miss you getting on my shirt tails when there was nobody else for you to get mad at or tease at the moment.  I am so glad that I got to help you out so much the past 5 years & I know that you really did appreciate it "even when you were getting on my shirt tails"!  I love you Grandpa & treasure the time we got to spend together both when I was young & also more recently.

"The one story I remember most was the time Dan and I were having one of our famos shoot-outs with our BB guns. We were in the back woods shooting at each other. We had on heavy P-coats and stocking caps to lesson the sting of the BB's that hit us. Dan was such a miser that he always horded all his BB's and even though I was a crack shot due to using many BB's target practicing; it did not help me a bit when I would run out of BB's in the heat of battle as was typical. He than began barraging me with rapid fire shots aimed at the back of my legs. Lucky for me he was not a very good shot! As I ran toward the house and I reached the barn I noticed our Dad coming from the milking stalls heading toward us. I jumped under the Pepsi Cola truck and hung from the driveline hoping not to be seen. I could see both my Dad and Dan coming toward each other at the corner of the barn. Dan looking for me to be waiting to ambush him and my Dad walking around the corner of the barn with two buckets of milk in his hand; only to get shot in the chest 3 times in rapid secession. My Dad not very happy about this as you might expect, and knowing my Dad; he was very mild tempard - not. All within my sight Dad took Dan's gun broke it in half and grabbed Dan by the ear and proceeded to take him to the house. I am not sure to this day  if Dan's feet touched the ground more than a few times for the entire trip? Poetic justice for me don't you think? I just found my BB gun the other day. It had been hid from me for 48 years but, I have it now!" Mike Marinelli

"I always remember the family going to the big town of Renton once a month to pick up all the items we could not acquire in the small village of Maple Valley. He would drive is there in his old Pepsi Cola open bed-flatbed truck on the old graveled Petrovitski Road. All 4 of us kids would sit up against the headboard next to the cab of the truck and he would stretch a rope from one side of the bed to the other side across our laps and tie it tight. This was our seatbelt in those days. We would do all our shopping, go to the feed store, and the highlight was stopping at the Woolworth Store on the way out of town and each getting an ice-cream sandwich for 10 cents each."

"Later I remember taking him to my office in Kent once a week each Thursday and how he would love to watch me play computer Chess on my large monitor and he slowly learned how all the pieces moved. He loved it when the computer was beating me but, he also like it when I would win. I am not sure to this day witch made him happier? During the time we played chess on the computer I play music videos. To my surprise he would always ask me to play the same song over and over claiming it was his favorite song. This was the first time I had ever heard him make such an expression. It altered my view of him even, at that late date in his life." Mike Marinelli

Some of my fond memories of our Grandpa Sutter...

On his way to work at Kenworth, he would drop off fresh milk for us.  I think this is why I only drink half and half because he spoiled us with the good stuff.

Spending the night at grandma & grandpas, sleeping on the green foam mats in the playroom, sometimes with all the cousins.

Getting up early to help milk the cows and feed the barn kitties fresh milk.

Watching grandpa catch Sparky and Sparky making him work for it, ornery old horse.

Picking blackberries and grandpa keeping us company and trimming paths for us.

Watching him drink his coffee in a giant mug.

Grandpa was a hard worker and I also loved how simple he was. Really...who needs more than few pairs of overalls and longjonhs.
