

Harold Roy Sutter passed away peacefully at home in Maple Valley on February 14, 2014 at age 86. Harold was born in Issaquah, Washington on October 30, 1927 to William Frederick Sutter and Opal Emma Peck Sutter. He graduated from Issaquah High School.
Harold was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Iris Doreen Sutter. He is survived by his brother Tom Sutter (Marlene) of Mossyrock; daughters, Deborah Dixon (Larry) of Maple Valley and Doreen Dixon (Freeman) of Maple Valley; sons Michael Marinelli (Sandy) of Renton and Daniel Marinelli (Teresa) of Maple Valley; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Harold was a Corporal in the United States Army from September 24, 1952 to September 14, 1954. He then served in the Army Reserves and received an honorable discharge on October 13, 1960. While in the US Army he received the following medals: National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and Korean Service Medal with two bronze service stars.
On October 5, 1956 he married Iris Doreen Buckley. They moved to Maple Valley in 1957 with their four children. Harold retired from Kenworth Truck Company in 1990. He enjoyed raising farm animals and working around his farm.
Harold will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who loved and knew him. We will celebrate his life and remember his stories.
Services will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery with Military Honors at 2:00 PM on February 28, 2014. Arrangements made by Greenwood Memorial Park Funeral Home of Renton. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Veterans of Foreign Wars.
